​Material: Cellulose paper pads are the industry standard due to their high water absorption and cooling efficiency (80-90%). Plastic pads are more durable and easier to clean but generally offer lower cooling efficiency. 
​Thickness: 100mm (4 inches) is common for smaller setups, while 150mm (6 inches) is preferred for large tunnel-ventilated houses to achieve maximum cooling. 
​Maintenance: Look for pads with anti-bacterial and UV-resistant treatments to prevent microbial growth and degradation from sun exposure.
